

Karl Gibson Casmer, age 85, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015. He was born in Dearborn, Michigan on September 27, 1929 to the late Walter and Amalia Casmer. Karl served in the Michigan Army National Guard for 4 years and was a graduate of the University of Michigan. He retired from ATandT where he worked as an Electrical Engineer and went on to own and operate Casmer Cleaners. He was a member of Asbury South United Methodist Church. Karl sang with a barbershop group and the Capital City Chorus. He enjoyed singing, playing chess, and completing puzzles. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Rose Casmer; and sister, Betty Casmer. He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn (Kurt) Pegors and Amalia (Jeff) Brotherton; son, Karl Gibson (Amy) Casmer II; and grandchildren, Nathan (Heather) and Eric (Bethany) Pegors and Bethany and Andrew Brotherton. Friends may call on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 East Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio where funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 10:00AM. Rev. Casey Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne Ohio. Memorial contributions in Karl's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
