Kathleen Darst

Kathleen Whiting Darst, 68, of Westerville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on the first day of fall after a lengthy illness. Kathy was born in Detroit, MI on March 21, 1948 to Richard and Mary Ann Whiting. Kathleen attended Mount St. Joseph University College of nursing in Cincinnati, OH before leaving to start her family. She was an avid reader, loved books, enjoyed crossword puzzles, classic movies, and Notre Dame Football. Kathleen enjoyed her years with husband Dick in northern Michigan especially their Charlevoix, MI homes. She is preceded in death by her parents and devoted husband Dick Darst. She is survived by her loving sister, Magee Whiting; son, Sean Kearney (Shari); daughter, Megan Ratchford (Tom LeBeau); step children Kimberly McCabe(Michael), and Richard Darst; numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also enjoyed the company of many close friends and neighbors. Family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2016, at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High Street where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Father David Gwinner officiating. Internment Kingwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Visiting Angels of Upper Arlington or Mt. Carmel Hospice.
