Kathleen Marie (Sheets) Lanham

Kathleen Marie (Sheets) Lanham, age 50, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 7, 2011, after a 5-year battle with breast cancer. She was born in Columbus on June 7, 1961, and was a 1980 graduate of Grove City High School. Kathy is survived by her husband of 20 years, Chester Lanham; mother, Norma J. Sheets; father, Richard C. Sheets, Sr.; sisters, Debbie Focht and Theresa (Guss) Martinez; brother, Rick (Debbie) Sheets; daughters, Kelly (Eric) Kirby and Sherry Lanham; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved dogs. She was preceded in death by her Grammy Mary Merrill; and step-mother, Patricia J. Sheets; and aunt, Donna (Merrill) Hicks. Kathy worked for several years at Pactiv. She was a member of Christian Life Church in Plain City, where she dedicated her time to the bread ministry every week. She enjoyed live music, and she loved to take her grandchildren, nieces and nephews to concerts with her. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, and she loved spending time spoiling her dogs. Kathy had a huge heart, always giving to others, and she maintained a positive attitude through everything life brought her way. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Bud Mulford officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
