

Kathleen Squillace, 58, of Worthington, passed away at her home, surrounded by family and friends, Tuesday, April 26, 2011. She was born March 17, 1953 in Warner Robin, Georgia. Kathy received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Maryland in 1975, and then worked at NIH until 1984. She shifted to industry after moving to Columbus in 1987 and spent over 20 years working in oncology, most recently helping to found Veeda Oncology. Kathy contributed to her community in many ways but was especially proud of co-founding the Evening Street Chess Club. Kathy was an exercise enthusiast, completing two half-marathons last year. Her productivity was amazing but her focus was always on people. She was devoted to her family and friends and comforted these last months by their outpouring of support. Preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Squillace, and brothers, Alexander and James Squillace. Kathy will be missed by her loving husband of almost 28 years, Robert Perry; daughter, Jessica Perry; son, Alex Perry; father, Dominick Squillace; sister-in-law, Miriam Squillace; and her faithful dogs, Sammy and Romeo. Family will receive friends Friday, April 29, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (Just South of I-270). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas More Newman Center, 64 W. Lane Ave., Columbus, Fr. Joe Ciccone, Celebrant. Graveside services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Union Cemetery, 3349 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kathy’s memory to Make-A-Wish Found., 3550 N.
