

Kathryn I. “Katy” (Capretta) Elgin, age 75. The Lord said it was time to come home, so on May 28, 2011, she did just that. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Preceded in death by parents, Carl and Agnes Capretta; her loving husband, Richard “Dick” Elgin; and loving son, Rick Elgin. She is survived by children, Ted (Jocie) Elgin, Chris (Mike) Tubbs, Jeff Elgin, and Brad (Lori) Elgin; daughter-in-law, Rose Elgin; grandchildren, Tanya (Chris Howard), Joe, Lacie, Nick, Kim, Tyler, Ken, Jennifer, and Wendy; great grandchildren, Kayla, Camren, and MaKenna; sister, Dorothy Bonner; sisters-in-law, Rose Capretta and Jodi Elgin; and many nieces, nephews, and friends, including special friends, the Michalak family and Shirley and Raymond Paprocki. Member of St. Cecilia Church, and a member of the 50+ Club. Member of NARVRE and the Holy Family Alumni, St. Cecilia Quilt Club. She was very handy and could sew anything; she made some beautiful quilts. The family would like to thank Tanya and Rose, who put their lives on hold to care for Mom in her last days. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 434 Norton Road, Fr. Leo Connolly, Celebrant. Interment at Sunset Cemtery.
