Kathryn Heaton Jeffrey

Kathryn Heaton Jeffrey, 73, of Columbus Ohio passed away peacefully on August 8, 2021, at Kobacker Hospice House. "Kay" was born and raised in Columbus Ohio, daughter of the late J. Richard Jeffrey and Kathryn Heaton Jeffrey. Kay graduated from Columbus School for Girls in 1966 and received her BA in 1970 from Hobart and William Smith College. She worked at the Huntington Bank, retiring after more than 25 years of service. Kay lived an independent life of simplicity and privacy. She was devoted to her church and faith community, family, and friends. Kay gave generously to many nonprofit organizations and was passionate about northern Michigan where she enjoyed nature, adventure and the community at the Columbus Beach Club. She will be missed by her sister Diane and brother-in-law, Barry Svigals, her nephew Zach and his wife Ginny Svigals, nieces, Katie and Annie Svigals, extended family, and dear friends. A memorial gathering to celebrate her life will be held in late May 2022 in Columbus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kay's memory to Charity Newsies, Mid-Ohio Food Bank, Little Traverse Conservancy or to Raven Hill Discovery Center.
