Kathryn "Kitti" Slusarz

Kathryn “Kitti” Slusarz, age 55 passed away at home on Saturday, February 7, 2015. She was born on October 3, 1959 in Columbus, OH to the late Richard and Colleen Herminghausen. Kitti devoted her life to her young students as a much loved elementary school teacher. She spent the majority of her 30 years at Hawthorne Elementary School in Westerville. She was able to touch and enrich the lives of an untold number of children in her life. Kitti had a unique and fun outlook on life and had the unique ability to make anyone feel at ease around her. Even though she will be remembered as a great teacher, she was an even better Mom who was extremely devoted to own children. She will truly be missed by her family and everyone who was fortunate enough to call her “friend.” She is survived by her children, Albin Joseph Slusarz III, Colleen Veronica Slusarz and Eric Matthew Slusarz; sisters, Candi (Roger) Fettrow and Sara H. (Chris) Connor; and ex-husband, Albin Joseph Slusarz, Jr. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, February 13, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL1051 E. Johnstown RD. (at Beecher RD) Gahanna. Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 pm, following the calling hours. Celebrant Andrew Hoover officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions in Kitti’s memory may be made to the Westerville Board of Education for the Slusarz Memorial Fund, 5001 Far-View Dr., Columbus, OH 43231.
