Born on September 18, 1938, in Columbus, Ohio, Kay was the daughter of the late Lawrence “Zeke” and Eloise Bates. She dedicated many years of her life as a secretary at Spangler Moving and Storage before retiring. Kay was a passionate fan of The Ohio State University and as a faithful Catholic, she cheered enthusiastically for Notre Dame football. She also liked the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kay cherished time spent with her family, especially watching her children play Little League baseball and softball. She found joy in playing Bingo and vacationing at Lake Erie with loved ones. Her greatest delight was spoiling her only grandchild, Kaitlyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. “Hank” Taylor; daughter, Kathleen Taylor; son, Robert H. Taylor; and sister, Nancy Teal. Kay is survived by her beloved granddaughter, Kaitlyn (James) King; her brother, Thomas Bates; daughter-in-law, Lolita Taylor; and her cherished great-granddog, Bonnie. She will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services by Schoedinger Hilltop, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
