Born June 7, 1937 to Burke and Rachel Brewer, Kay is the oldest of their three girls, later joined by sisters Rae and Brenda.
A Bright Light to all since her birth, Kay stayed focused, stubborn, engaged, and active every decade of her life. Examples are her steadfastness with animal rescue, working until she was 78 years old, creating art, watercolor paintings, clothing as a detailed seamstress, afghans, and entire gardens of award winning flowers from seed. During Kay’s college years in Akron working toward her Degree as an Art Teacher, she was not only on the college swim team, but was on the synchronized swimmers team. Kay’s passion for community continued on in later years through her membership and contributions in The Red Hat Society.
It was in that last year of college in the late 1950s when Kay became a Watson, going on to create and raise three daughters, Lisa, Laura, and Linda, nearly as loved as her grandchildren and great grandchildren came to be. You can surely understand.
The Watsons emphasized education and giving in their girls’ paths and each became specialized professionals themselves. Lisa Renee Watson, our family’s red head, became a social worker and preceded her mom in completion here on earth. Laura (husband David, missed since 2024) Morrow became a specialized nurse, and Linda (Jay) Jordan became an air traffic controller, each through retirement.
Kay Watson’s children and loving grandchildren carry on her legacy of bringing Life to Art, People, and Animals. Channing Watson, Levi Jordan, Burke (Valerie) Jordan and great grandchildren Tucker and Brynlee Jordan, each lead the lineage.
We are Grateful, one unto another, the ways our family came together, as we were taught to do, to provide care during the time of aging for Kay to reach 87 years!
We are also grateful for the care given by Majestic Nursing Home that provided the most dignified and loving hospice care.
To honor Kay Evelyn Watson, keep her focus and kindness in your actions always; And instead of bringing all of the lost or wayward animals into your own home, we ask for donations be considered to feed and treat fosters while they await adoption at Capital Humane.
