Kayla was an angel both here and now in God's Kingdom. Our son Michael Shirley and us knew Kayla and Lonnie, Jr. quite well. Michael used to have such a crush on her whenever he was hanging around and riding dirt bikes with Lonnie. I always told him, "you should ask her out", he would always say "she is much too beautiful to even give me the time of day mom". Now they are both in Heaven together. We know your pain Sheri and Lonnie and will be there for you when you need a shoulder to cry on.

My husband and I met Kayla at the beginning of this year.  We played darts together on Thursday nights.  When she walked into a room, she lit it up with her smile and presence.  She will be mourned and remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her.

I can’t imagine the sadness or pain you must be feeling.  If it were possible, I would give most anything to undo your hurt.

Like so many others, I am praying for you.  Please remain strong, in your faith and for your family.  My hope is that in time, you can be consoled by the fact that Kayla belongs to the angels now.

My daughter Melissa Kwast grew up with Lonnie and Kayla, I watched them grow from kindergarten into Wonderful adults.  I am so sorry for the loss of Kayla, Always Remember, It will be the little things that Kayla did “ Cheerleading, Dancing and the funny things she did that made you smile and laugh” you will remember, the quiet moments, her smiles I remember her always smiling, her laughter. And although it may seem hard right now,  It will be the memories of those little things that help to push, away the pain, and bring the smiles back again.
