Kristan Kay Crosby, age 75, left this world peacefully on 13 September, 2022. Kristan graduated from Whetstone High School in 1964 and Ohio Wesleyan University in 1968, and later received an MA in Education from The Ohio State University. She taught at both Ohio State and Columbus City Schools, and touched the lives of countless students. Kristan had a special passion and gift for teaching Special Education. It was inspiring to see her in action working with her students, to see the bond she created with them, and the positive impact she made in their lives. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a devoted wife to her husband Robin Crosby. Upon retiring from teaching, she spent her time visiting her children and grandchildren. Her family cherishes the memories they have from the many vacations and holidays they spent together. When she was not visiting family or traveling, she loved to garden, knit, go out with friends, play trivia games and participate in the Upper Arlington Library book club. Kristan was a genuine, kind and selfless person. She put others before herself, and would do anything for the people she loved. Her seemingly endless energy was infectious. Measuring only about 5 feet tall, she could easily be described as small, but mighty. Even in the face of a terminal illness, she maintained her strength, grace, positivity and humor.
Kristan is preceded in death by her father George Rinker Jr. and mother Dorothy Jeanne (Kagay) Rinker. She is survived by her brother Kent Rinker (Nan), her husband Robin Crosby and their children: Chris Crosby (Joyce), Cara Clippinger (Jon), Kyle Crosby (Jessica), Callie George (Kyle) and their precious grandchildren: Will, Maddie, Ryan, Max, James and Gia.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. Saturday, October 8, 2022 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Rd.
