Kristen N. Auel

Kristen N Auel, age 35, passed away peacefully on Monday April 5th, 2021. Kristen was preceded in death by her Mother, Ann Hartnett; Grandparents, Harry C Auel Sr, Herbert "Al" Hartnett and Nancy K Hartnett; Uncle Brian Clemens and Uncle Paul Hartnett. Kristen will be deeply missed by her grandmother, Delma Auel; loving father, Harry C Auel Jr (Katy); sister, Leann Auel (Brandon McGannon); adoring nephew and niece, Harrison and Maylin McGannon; many Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and amazing Friends.

Kristen attended Urbana University where she played four years of soccer and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Accounting. She later followed her passion for football and became a running back and kicker for the Columbus Comets Women's football team. Kristen was a dedicated Accountant for Chipotle Mexican Grill for over 12 years and was extremely proud of this role and the company itself. She had the opportunity to complete a solo trip across the US in 2017 and would encourage everyone to take an adventure. Kristen rode in the 25 and 35 mile Pelotonia routes in 2019 and had big plans for future rides; specifically a route from Columbus to Cincinnati. As a Cincinnati native, Kristen enjoyed all Cincy sports and proudly supported each team year after year.

Those close to Kristen would describe her as fiercely independent, loyal and someone who was consistently looking out for everyone around her. She was always true to herself and showed up for her loved ones in every way. She was full of personality and spirit and we were all so lucky to have known her.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Friday, April 16, 2021 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221, (colorful dress attire is encouraged). Guests are respectfully asked to wear masks and attendance will be monitored to ensure safety for everyone attending.
