L Jean Bachman

Lauretta Jean Bachman, age 90, died Monday, September 7, 2015 in Evansville, IN. She was born August 8, 1925 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Roscoe and Matilda Vandiver. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bachman; son, Bill Bachman, Jr.; and brother, Gordon Vandiver. Jean is survived by her daughters, Wilda Uhrig (David), Ruth Bachman (Tom Gallagher), Jeanette Donelson (Jim), and Becky Thomas; brother, Donald Vandiver (Verline); grandchildren, Chris, Jenny (Troy), Betsy (John), Abby, Matt (Holly), Ashley (Andy), Dylan (Karyn), Molly, Amanda, and Ryan; numerous great-grandchildren and extended family. Jean graduated from North High School; Capital University where she sang in the Chapel Choir; and Milwaukee School of Nursing. She was still learning at 90 by taking Calculus. Her primary joy was her family. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.) Gahanna. Funeral Service 10 a.m. Saturday, September 12 with a visitation one hour prior from 9-10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 55 Pasadena Ave., Columbus. Pastor Bill McKee officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean's memory may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
