

Laura M. (Nichols) Schneider, 90, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011. She was born April 2, 1920 in Washington, PA, moved to Ohio during middle school, and graduated high school in Ashville, OH. Laura married Frederick W. Schneider and they made their home in Columbus. She retired from Ranco Controls after over 30 years. Laura was a formerly attended St. James the Less Church where she was a member of the Blood of Jesus Prayer Group, and St. Vincent DePaul Society. She recently attended Life Bridge Church where she served as a deaconess and was a member of the JOY Group. Laura helped those less fortunate than herself in many ways, including crocheting for Right to Life, Pregnancy Distress, and Charity Newsies. Preceded in death by her parents, William and Loretta Nichols; brothers, Bill and Homer; sister, Pearl Eileen; husband, Frederick; sons, John and William; and great-grandson, Justin Ray. Laura will be missed by her loving children, Joan Ray, Don (Mary) Schneider, Dave (Jeannie) Schneider, Cheri (Alex) May, and F. Eric (Toron); 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Laura will be remembered for being giving, compassionate, inspirational, selfless, and a good teacher. Family will receive friends Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 2-6 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Life Bridge Church, 5543 Sinclair Rd., Columbus, OH, Pastor David Vandenbergh, officiating.
