LaVella A. Riner

LaVella Juanita Adkins Riner, age 86, of Gahanna passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at New Albany Care Center. LaVella was born on October 27, 1925 in Kansas City, MO; she was the daughter of the late Burnell E. and Gladys Adkins. LaVella was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 34 years, John W. Riner, Jr.; daughter, Anne Elizabeth Riner Morris; and brother, Billy Mack (Carline)Adkins. She is survived by her loving family; children, John (Cathie) Riner of Columbus, Christine (Ron Lester) Riner of Gahanna, Philip (Donna) Riner of Groveport and Peter Riner of Columbus, son-in-law, Peter Morris of Dayton; grandchildren, Kristina Larkin, Adam Riner, Natalie Lester, Brian Riner, Andrew Lester and Cody Riner; great grandchildren, Connor Larkin, Brenna Larkin and Preston Riner; along with many cousins. LaVella was a 1941 graduate of East High School in Kansas City, MO. She was an animal lover and avid reader and gardener. LaVella enjoyed traveling with John to London, Paris, Italy and Scotland. She was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, proud grandmother and proudest great grandmother. Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 17, 2011 from 2-5pm with a memorial service at 5pm at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230.
