Lee C. Mittman, most beloved husband and father, and adored grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Lee returned from active duty with the US Army during the last years of the Korean Conflict to graduate from Kent State University and from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. He was hired at his graduation by the Honorable Mell G. Underwood to serve as his clerk to the US District Court, Southern District. At the conclusion of that tenure, he started what would remain until his death, a fully active legal practice. His sweetness of disposition, his love of family, joy in his identity of his Jewish heritage, and unfailing pride of his legal career were unique to all who shared in his uncommon warmth. Lee is survived by his wife, Paula Mittman; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and T.G. Glazer, and Max and Nathan; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Janet Mittman, and Allison and Jacob; brother, David Mittman; brother-in-law, Michael Shuman; and nephews, Michael and Jason. A special thank you to his physicians, W. Wulf, Charles Bush, and James Allen, and to his treasured paralegal, Jane E. Nelson, and associate, Saudra Bryson. At Lee’s request, private arrangements will be handled by Schoedinger Funeral Service.
