Leeson "Dink" Stewart

Leeson S. “Dink” Stewart, age 90, of Columbus, died Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at his home with family by his side. He was born January 29, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio, only child of the late McKinley and Sylvia (Kelly) Stewart. Dink retired as a manager from the U.S. Postal Service after over 30 years of service. Following retirement, he worked for 20 years at The Country Club at Muirfield Village. He will be sorely missed and is survived by his children, Donald (Betty) Stewart and Robin Lewis; beloved grandchildren, Donald (Jessica) Stewart Jr., Kevin Stewart and Wesley Alexander and great-grandchildren Stephanie, Kevin Jr., Donald III, Robert, Charles and Adreanna. Also, survived by dear friends, Doris Riley, Alma Whetsel, Bill and Dale Wright and Denny Longo. Besides his parents, Dink was preceded in death by his ex-wife Melba Stewart and granddaughter Jennifer Stewart. He attended Bowling Green State University on a golf scholarship for one year and maintained a passion for golf well into his eighties. He donated many sets of clubs and golf balls to several local high school programs. Dink never met a stranger and had a great sense of humor. Always putting his family first, he volunteered his help with his grandson’s high school basketball team at Beechcroft High School several years ago. A Celebration of Life service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, October 28, 2023 at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232, where family and friends may call from 2:00-3:00 pm Saturday.
