

Leon V. "Lee" Heim, 86, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2013. He was cared for in the loving home of his niece and her husband, Teri and George Oberst. Additional care was provided by many family members and the excellent staff with Mt. Carmel Hospice. Leon is survived by his daughter, Susan L. Heim and granddaughters, Lisa and Madison of California; sister, Helen Harlor, nieces, Pam, Leslie, Tammy (Jim), Teri (George), Judy (Jack); and nephew, Paul David (Beth). Additional family members are Ruth and Jerry and many great nieces and nephews. Leon is preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen, father, Leon, brother, John, brother-in-law, Paul, nephew, Mike, and nieces, Patti and Cathy. Leon served in WWII in the U.S. Naval Construction Battalion (Seabees) throughout the Pacific. He maintained a strong passion for his country and fellow veterans. He retired after 30 years from the State of Ohio. Leon had a deep love for the Holy Mass and our Blessed Mother and many charities. He loved family gatherings, animals, music, sports, joke telling, and card games. Family will receive friends from 12-2 and 4-6 P.M. Friday, March 8, 2013 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 A.M. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel located on the grounds of St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 6440 S.
