Leslie Maurice, devoted wife, mother, sister and friend was born July 26th 1949, and welcomed to heaven on Sunday January 5th 2014 in a peaceful slumber among devoted family. Leslie graduated from St. Josephs Academy in 1967. A few years later in 1971 she married David Maurice and started her life as a devoted wife and mother. Her joy and happiness in life was a direct reflection of those she loved. She found immense pleasure in gardening, cooking, and volunteering at many organizations. She found peace at helping all she knew especially while volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. She was an animal lover of all kinds from cats to dogs to even her frogs in her pond which she counted daily during her leisure rides in her golf cart. In life we all serve a purpose given to us by God. Leslie served her purpose in life with an open heart, forgiving soul, and a devotion to be admired from the heavens. Her purpose was just that to love unconditionally and touch the hearts of those she encountered. A devoted mother, loving wife, caring sister, nurturing grandmother and admired daughter.
Leslie is preceded in death by her father James Waidelich, mother Neva Fisher Waidelich, daughter Jennifer Maurice, and son David Maurice.
Surviving and keeping her memory alive are her widower David Maurice, son Alex (Stephanie Schroer) Maurice, daughter Elizabeth Maurice, sister Linda Waidelich, step-dad Robert Ogier, granddaughter Rosa Beyer, and many friends whose lives were touched by her kindness.
At the request of the family there will be a private graveside memorial closed to the public. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Nationwide Children’s Hospital at PO Box 16810, Columbus, OH 43216 in Leslie’s memory.
