Lester E. Carr

Lester E. Carr, Jr., "together again" Les has gone to be with God and reunited with the love of his life. Born August 17, 1930 to Lester E and Beatrice (Gordon) Carr in Jersey City, NJ. Predeceased by mother, father, sister Meta Beatrice Christopher, and son Lester Elliot Carr III. Survived by two children, Melinda Joyce (Herb) and Jonathan Gordon (Lori); daughter in-law, Terann Katherine; grandchildren, Dana Renee, Jonathan Daniel, Wendell Gordon (Nicole), Christopher Herbert, Eric Matthew, Hilary Katherine (Aaron), Jeremy Elliot (Grace) and by marriage Josh (Loren); great grandchildren, Devon, Delilah, Kraven, Emma, Jael, Jonathan, Matthew, Evelyn, and Lilliana; cousins, nephews and nieces; many special loving and close friends. Les came to Ohio in 1951 as an Airman in the USAF and was stationed at Lockbourne AFB. Found Joyce, married her and they spent 60+ years together. Raised a family, watched them grow up and start their own families. We are proud of them all. Les' military service began in 1947 and ran until he officially retired in 1990. 1947-1951 USNR; 1951-1955 USAF, 91ARS; 1955-1981 ARNG, A BTRY 174 FA, 1/134 FA and 1/136 FA, Commanding; 1981-1990 USAR. Retired from The Ohio Bell Telephone Company after 28 years and 3 months service. No Flowers, please donate to your church or favorite charity. "That's all there is, there ain't no more." Until we meet again. Amen! A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 2:00PM followed by a reception until 4:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E.
