Linda McFarland Grohs (nee Dill), 84, passed peacefully into her eternal home on September 17, 2023 at The Avalon in New Albany where she had lived the last 2½ years. Linda was born February 4, 1939, in Columbus OH, graduated from Columbus North High School and her beloved Ohio State University and taught elementary school for 31 years in Columbus City Schools. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Jeffrey Grohs, and many dear friends and relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents Harold G. and Beatrice Dill, and her siblings Joanne Brunsman, Jeanne Ruble and Jack Dill.
Linda's smile and energy always lit up any room she entered. She loved her horse Hank, going to Buckeye football games, singing crazy songs with her students and nieces and nephews, skiing, playing tennis, hiking, snorkeling, swimming, rollerblading and traveling. Her Christian faith and family meant the world to her and Linda was always generous to others: serving the homeless at the Vineyard Church, taking her famous Christmas cookie plates and caroling for Meals on Wheels friends, greeting at Saturday church services, and creating numerous trips and memories of a lifetime for her many nieces, nephews and even great nieces/nephews.
A memorial service celebrating Linda's life will be held at Indianola Church at 2141 Indianola Avenue Columbus 43201 on Saturday, September 30, 2023 where Visitation will begin at 10:00am with the Memorial Service following at 11:00am.
