Linda Jo (Hitch) Mahone

Linda Mahone, age 68, passed away peacefully in her home in Columbus, Ohio and was welcomed into her eternal home on Monday, January 8, 2024. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Francis Marion Hitch and Benny Blythe Hitch. She is survived by her partner of 45 years, Stephen, their children Jared (Kara) Mahone, Stephanie (Michael) Mahone Wente, and their two grandchildren Cameron and Murphy who were the joy of her life. She is also survived by her four siblings, Blythe Ann (Mark) Cooper, Bryan (Terry) Hitch, Neal (Deneen) Hitch, and Jamey (Christina) Sintz, as well as many other loving family members and friends. Linda loved music and she loved people. She began singing at a young age with her parents and siblings as they did their daily chores like washing dishes together in the kitchen. The family soon formed a musical group known as The Hitches, and together over the span of decades shared their personal relationship with Jesus Christ on stages all across the country. She was a performer at heart and found fulfillment in making people smile and laugh. Linda brought joy to her friendships at work, at church, and throughout her family. She enjoyed her 40-year career as a dental assistant, and had a special way of connecting with her patients and co-workers. She cared deeply about helping others and cheering on those she loved. She was a lifelong, active and involved member of Hillcrest Baptist Church on the westside of Columbus. There will be a Celebration of Life service at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 2480 W. Broad Street, on Saturday, February 3 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tim Lee officiating.
