

Linnie Ruth Panning, age 77, died Friday, June 5, 2015 in Columbus, OH. She was born in Zanesville, OH on December 27, 1937, daughter of the late Ellis A. Leckrone and Mary E. (Williams) Leckrone. Linnie was the wife of Rev. Eldor P. Panning and will be missed by him as well as their three sons, Mark (Pamela) of Gahanna, OH, Scott (Jennifer) of Pinckney, MI, and Stephen of Lincolnwood, IL; grandchildren, Clare, Seth, Morgen, Sloan, Luke, and Avery; sister, Suellen (Dan) Barclay of Raleigh, NC; and brother, Allen (Linda) Leckrone of Gahanna, OH. Linnie was a graduate of Newark High School and Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. After her sons were grown, she was a substitute teacher in the communities where she and Eldor lived. She later worked as a secretary for Pine Rest Psychiatric Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. During her lifetime, Linnie was active in the various Lutheran churches where her husband was a pastor. She served on many committees and held a number of offices in the Evangelical Lutheran Church Women's organization. She enjoyed playing the piano and directing youth choirs. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 8 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.) Gahanna. Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 9 at Peace Lutheran Church 455 Clark State Road, Gahanna. Pastor Dwight Hedrick and Pastor Merlyn Seitz officiating.
