Lisa Ann Rubin

Lisa Ann Hirschfeld Rubin, age 48, died on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. She passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer, which she fought with grace and dignity. She was born in Bellefontaine, OH on June 22, 1963 to Dale and Sue Detrick Hirschfeld. Lisa graduated from the Riverside High School in DeGraff, OH in 1981. She attended Bowling Green State University and Kettering College of Medical Arts where she became a Respiratory Therapist. She married Dan Rubin on September 9, 1995 in Dublin, Oh. She was a member of the Indian Run United Methodist Church in Dublin where she helped with Sunday school. Lisa was also a dedicated volunteer at her children’s schools. She loved watching her children in sporting events, cooking, sewing, traveling and being with her many friends. Lisa was a kind and considerate person who loved being a mother to her 2 wonderful children. Her quiet strength and dignity will be forever cherished by her family. She is preceded in death by her son, Derek who died in infancy; grandparents, Max (Elizabeth) Detrick, and Nevin (Verona) Hirschfeld. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Dan; children, Jack and Lauren, parents Dale (Sue) Hirschfeld; brother Eric and his friend Diane; niece Erica Hirschfeld; nephew, Blake Hirschfeld; aunt, Marsha Hughes; and cousins, Steve and Tom Hughes. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Friday, October 7, 2011 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington, Ohio (just South of I-270). Family will also receive friends from 11-12 pm, Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Indian Run United Methodist Church, 6305 Brand Rd., Dublin, OH. A funeral service will be held immediately follow the calling hours at 12 pm. Pastor Diane Mendelson officiating. Interment in Kingwood Memorial Park.
