Lois Ann Smith

Lois Ann (Reeder) Smith, age 91, of Galloway Ohio passed away peacefully Thursday, June 25th 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family. Lois was born in Columbus, Ohio, September 25th, 1934, to the late Glade and Dorotha (Stephens) Reeder.

She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, James W. Smith (1930 - 2013) and her sisters, Betty (William Phillis living) and Patty (Carl Schreiner deceased).

She is survived by her children Sandra Queen, Daniel Smith, and Nancy (John) Markham: 8 grandchildren, 9 gr-grandchildren and a sister, Connie (Roger Nichols deceased), and many nieces and nephews.

During her High School Years she won a Beauty Contest, sang in talent shows, was a guest on local radio stations to sing and was well known for her beautiful voice. She graduated from West High School in 1952 and shortly after married and was a wonderful wife and mother to her three kids. She took on a variety of part time jobs when her children were older to help support her family. She made it very known to her family and church friends of how proud she was of her grandchildren. Lois was 2 two time breast cancer survivor of 30 years.

Lois was an active member of the Alkire Road Church of Christ.

The last five years of her life her granddaughters, Jenna Markham and Samantha Van Oss (Kevin), and gr-granchildren, Ada, Nolan and Kameron enjoyed their visits with Gigi several times a week at her assisted living facility. They will miss her greatly.

A visitation for family and friends is Tuesday June 30th from 11 - 12pm at Schoedinger Hilltop Funeral Home, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204. Funeral follows the visitation. Burial Service at Galloway Cemetery at 1pm. Pastor Dale George officiating.
