Lucien “Lou” Robertson Downing Jr., 81 of Columbus, died Thursday, December 13, 2012. He was born February 28, 1931 in Garden City, Kansas to the late Lucien and Serona (Bedker) Downing. He was a graduate of Garden City High School and received his Bachelor of Architecture at Kansas State. He was a member of the National Registry of Architects. Lou is survived by his loving wife Ella and two children by his first wife Nancy who has preceded him in death, Ronald Downing and Johnna (Jay) Barnes, two grandchildren Tanner and Taryn Barnes, brother Edwin (Ray) Downing, step children Richelle (Jon) Wilson and grandson Ben (Tamara) and great grandchild Sawyer, Richard (Tina) Moser and granddaughters Amy and Tessa, Rod (Sonya) Moser and grandchildren Sadie, Duffy, Cora and Sandy, Ruth (Mike) Bottomley and grandchildren Jeremy and Sara.
