Lynne Mitchell Heaggans

Lynne Mitchell Heaggans fell asleep in death July 16, 2018. She was born in Huntington, WV March, 23 1953 and was preceded in death by her adopted parents Laverna Monroe Mitchell and Floyd Henry Mitchell. Lynne attended High School in Huntington as well as Marshall University. Lynne was always quietly serving others. She dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was ready at a moment’s notice to proffer a delicious meal, a jar of homemade apple butter or chow chow and a strong shoulder to cry on for anyone having a hard time. She ran a one woman back to school drive, collecting school supplies, treats and toys to make kits for families in need but also for those better off so that their kids didn't feel left out. She continued this practice long after her own children graduated. Lynne spent 25 years in service to the City of Columbus as a records tech and then Records Supervisor for the Columbus Police Department. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Dwight Heaggans; devoted caregiver and daughter, Amanda Heaggans; Daughter, Chandra Burkes; Son, Allan Heaggans; Son, Matthew Heaggans; Sister, Mary Neil; Grandson, Nathan Mitchell; Granddaughter, Alexandria Burkes and her stupid dog, a rescue, Dolce. A simple remembrance will be held Saturday, July 21 from 2-4 pm at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH 43232.
