Lynne Ferguson Muskoff died from a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, April 13th 2016. A resident of Columbus, Ohio, she was born in LaSalle, Illinois on August 26th, 1937. She is pre-deceased by her beloved grandmother, Leota Benecke and her parents, Allene and William Ferguson, and her daughter-in-law, Margaret Gutman Muskoff. She was married to the love of her life, John for 58 years. She is also survived by her two beloved children, John Paul Muskoff, Jr. and Lee Anne Muskoff Austria (Dr. Gregory J. Austria), her brother, Lloyd Ferguson, sister-in-law Martha Ferguson, nephew William Ferguson (Wendy Haggart Ferguson), and niece Diane Ferguson. Lynne and John were blessed with three beautiful granddaughters, Christine (Richard Yarris), Katie, and Caroline who survive her. Lynne graduated from Hamilton High School, Hamilton, Ohio and attended Denison University. She and John were married on September 7, 1957 and lived in Columbus until after John's graduation from The Ohio State University Law School in 1960, whereupon he entered the United States Army Core of Intelligence. Upon returning to Columbus after finishing his tour of duty as an officer, they settled in Upper Arlington where they resided for the next 27 years, followed by 11 years in Dublin, Ohio. The last 16 years have been spent in New Albany, Ohio. Lynne's passion was art and all of its many facets. Her enthusiasm for the art world led Lynne to become a docent for the Columbus Museum of Art where she led tours for over 20 years. Additionally, Lynne became a member of the Vestry of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Upper Arlington. She also served on the boards of Neighborhood House, the Junior League of Columbus, and the Ross Museum at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. Lynne was especially proud of achieving her dream of owning and operating a commercial art gallery for 13 years. Gallery V was one of the pioneers in the revival of the nationally known Short-North district in Columbus, Ohio. The years running the gallery comprised some of the happiest and most fulfilling periods in her life. Lynne was fortunate to be able to travel the world with her husband in the last few decades of her life. She appreciated the insights these experiences provided her and her life was greatly enriched by the knowledge she gained. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 21st at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 2151 Dorset Rd. in Upper Arlington, Ohio followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in her name to the Ross Museum, St. Mark's Episcopal Church All Saints Fund, The Columbus Museum of Art, or a charity of your choice.
