

Madelyn Faye Pratt, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Kobacker House with her family by her side. She fought a two year battle with cancer, never lacking in hope, endurance and bravery. She was born August 12, 1925 in Powhatan Point, Ohio to the late Bernard and Daisy Ruble; also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Rosswell Ruble, Dwaine Ruble, Irene Briggs, Myron Ruble and Ruth Stone. Madelyn is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Stanley Pratt and was the proud mother of Larry (Debbie) Pratt of Westerville, Kathy (Chuck) Rippin of Concord, OH and Barb (Steve) Strome of Westerville; adoring grandma of Michael, Jonathan and Danielle Pratt, Brianna and Natalie Rippin, Korin (Mac) Dunford and Dr. Erin Strome (Ted Ferris); and one special little great-grandchild, Kaia Dunford. Also survived by sisters, Bernadine Lindsey of Dayton, OH and Hilda (Leslie) Ferguson of Wilmington, NC; sisters-in-law Marion Bopp of Canfield, OH and Erma (Herb) Harsh of Lebanon, OH, Eileen Ruble of Newark, OH and brother-in-law, Bill Stone of Franklin, OH; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Madelyn was an intelligent and determined 18 year old woman as she began her career at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. When she and Stan began to raise their family, she was active in Girl Scouts and was a dedicated wife and mother. She worked many years as an accountant with Dayco Manufacturing and later joined her husband in retirement. They enjoyed spending time together, whether they were in Ohio or Texas, with family or square dancing, golfing or cheering on the OSU Buckeyes…She lived life to the fullest. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St., Worthington, OH 43085 where services will be held Wednesday at 11am; Dr. Jeff DeYoe, officiating. Interment 11am Thursday at Dayton Memorial Park.
