Marcia Ruth Morlani

Marcia R. Morlani, lifelong resident of the Columbus, OH area was surrounded by a loving family and passed peacefully into the arms of our Savior on May 5, 2015. She was 79 years of age and had suffered from Alzheimer’s disease over many years. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Danillo (Don) Morlani from 1954 until his passing in 2004. Together, they raised four children at their Frisbee Street home and later resided in both Dublin and Westerville, OH. Preceded in death by parents Ruth Owen Untereiner and Paul Untereiner, brother Paul Owen Untereiner, sister Joyce Rae Hawkins and brother-in-law Encil W. Hawkins.

Family, friends and caretakers universally described Marcia as sweet, loving and devoted to her family. She was a wonderful homemaker, excellent cook and loved desserts. She especially enjoyed sharing treats with her children and grandchildren often with a twinkle in her eye! She was a graduate of Linden McKinley High School and member of St. Matthias and later St. Paul parishes. She held various jobs including as a telephone operator, serving at the DCSC Officers Club and in apartment cleaning, but her primary work and proudest accomplishment was the care of her family.

Survived by her children, Cathy (Jay) Strauch, Sheron (Jeff) Metzler, John (Donna) Morlani and Andrew Morlani, grandchildren, Elizabeth (Aaron) Martinez-Strauch, Krista (Dan) Fosselman, Jordan, Danny and Dominic Morlani.

Marcia had many wonderful caregivers on her long journey beginning with Jody Durr who helped us immensely. Thank you to her many caregivers at Emerald Crossing (Dublin, OH) where she resided for 7 years and was treated with respect, dignity and grace. A special thank you to the caring staff of Central Ohio Hospice for their care and support to Marcia and our families.
