Marcie L. Anderson

Marcie L. Anderson, age 84, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 28, 2024. Marcie was born on January 19, 1940 in DuBois, Pennsylvania to the late Robert and Margaret (Welsh) Daugherty. Also preceded in death by husband James Anderson; brothers Richard (Donna Miller) Daugherty and Robert “Bruce” Daugherty. Marcie grew up in Falls Creek, PA.

She was a graduate of Broadway High School. In her younger year’s she was very active with Beechwoods Presbyterian Church in Falls Creek, PA. Marcie married James on October 22, 1965. They moved to Columbus, Ohio to start their family. In 1978 Marcie and Jim became a members of Trinity United Methodist Church. She loved volunteering her time with the church and there many groups; Trinity PBJ Group, High School Youth Group Leader; Adult Sunday School and United Methodist Women’s Group. She had a love of giraffes, which led to her becoming a Docent volunteer for 17 years at the Columbus Zoo. Marcie worked for 30+ years and retired from the Ohio State Fischer College of Business. Marcie was an avid reader and a world traveler. She especially loved vacationing in the Outer Banks in the summer with her family. Her pride and joy was becoming a grandmother “Bobbi”. She never missed a concert or sporting event.

Marcie will be deeply missed by her loving daughters Jennifer (Bubba) Wyngarden and Lisa (Robert) Bracco; granddaughters Sydney and Mia Wyngarden and Isabella Bracco; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as many friends she considered family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, UA. Family will receive friends immediately following the service from 2:00-4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, PO Box 400, Powell, Ohio 43065 or go plant a tree in memory of Marcie.
