Margaret "Joan" Kirkwood was taken away from us much to soon and way too quickly after receiving a diagnosis of cancer. She passed away on May 22, 2020. She was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to the late Ralph and Gladys (Brook) Bell on January 16, 1946. She was a loving mother, an absolute wonderful Nana and a dear friend to anyone she would meet! Joan had many jobs throughout her life, but her favorite job was working as a server and bartender at Julian's, where she touched so many lives and made so many friends. She was a very kind-hearted person, never had any mean words to say about anyone and never met a stranger. Joan loved cardinals; she could watch and listen to them all day long. She also enjoyed reading a good book, especially the Bible. She loved watching crime shows and playing Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. Joan enjoyed her Chinese food, especially her go to meal, wor su gai and she never passed up a Diet Coke. She enjoyed her monthly shopping outings with her nephew, Rusty. She also looked forward to her nightly calls from her special family members! Some of her other greatest memories came from her house in Westerville many years ago, where she would have family and friends come together for parades and celebrations (especially 4th of July). Joan was a huge Buckeye fan and she loved her Dallas Cowboys, but nothing was more important in her life, than her family (she wasn't called "Crazy Nana" for nothing) Her grandkids adored her and she adored each and every one of them! She will be dearly missed, not only by family, but by anyone that was lucky enough to know her!
Besides her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her brother, Harold "Buddy" Bell (Lois) and her sister, Ruby Ann Ward (Glen). Joan is survived by her Children, Bryan Wallace, Andrew Wallace and Nicole Kirkwood; Daughter-in-laws, Lori and Yvette; Grandchildren Taylor, Zach, Mckenna, Brianna, Connor, Paige, Austin, Kali, Christian and Karis; Great Grandchildren Noelle and Milo; and many other dear family members and friends.
