

Margarette was born in Sandlick, West Virginia, and graduated from Bramwell High School before attending Concord College. Margarette married Donald Lewis Scott on June 7, 1948. Margarette and Don were married for 59 years. She was the schoolteacher in the last one-room schoolhouse in West Virginia, where she taught grades one through seven.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lewis Scott; and her eight brothers and sisters, Pansy Virginia Hurst (Lawrence), Euell Blake Bailey (Helen), Irene Elizabeth Austin (Jack), Ruth Helen Mundy (John), Vera Lee Zondorak (Steve), Earl Lewis Bailey (Velma), Herbert Harrison Bailey (Mary), and Nathan Clark Bailey.
She’s survived by her daughter, Karrie Ruth (Scott) Morgan; and a grandson, Evan David Morgan; Numerous nieces and nephews, and their children and grandchildren.
Margarette loved the Bible; and had a love for her God, Jehovah. She was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness when she was 28 years old. Over the years, she attended several congregations and was loved by many for her faith and kindness to all. Children were especially drawn to her.
She had a very loving relationship with her daughter and grandson; and countless friends made over the years. She will be remembered for her true warmth and caring for all she knew.
She will be missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
