Margie K. Martin, age 93, entered triumphantly into the Kingdom of our Lord, Monday, October 24, 2016. Margie was born in Summerfield, Ohio with a compassionate heart and a witty soul that inspired all who knew her. In 1947, she earned her Registered Nursing degree through the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps, Newark Hospital where she pledged, "Above all, I will dedicate myself now and forever to the triumph of life over death." And she lived it all her days. After graduating, she worked at Grant Hospital in the Medical Surgery Unit. Shortly after, she met and married the love of her life, Richard E. Martin, on April 29, 1949. Two years later, they had their first of six children who she stayed home to raise with same kind and selfless character that made her a wonderful nurse. When her last child was in second grade, she returned to nursing at Madison County Hospital where she worked for the next 17 years with many years in the Cardiac Care Unit. She retired in 1985. Until God called her home, she was passionate about helping, caring, and giving to others. She enjoyed road trips with friends, camping, crocheting, sewing, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family. Preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Bessie McElfresh; husband, Richard E Martin of 57 years; brothers Bill and Don McElfresh; daughter-in-law Patricia Martin; son-in-law Dave Tufts; sisters-in-law Norma Jean McElfresh, Mary Kathleen McDaniel and Dorothy (William) Coon; brothers-in-law Richard Schott and Kelton (Margaret) Martin.
