Marie Foeller-Swartz died Wednesday January 4, 2012 after a sudden illness. She was born in New York City but moved to Central Ohio in the 6th grade. After graduating from Reynoldsburg High School, she married the father of her two daughters, Robert Foeller. Marie’s love of people led her to the real estate industry where she worked for her brother and eventually was broker/owner of her own company with her husband, Buyers & Sellers Realty. In fact, real estate is how she met her current husband, Dennis Swartz, with whom she has been happily married for 23 years. Marie loved her ENTIRE family! She was the glue that kept everyone together. Whether organizing family activities or watching her grandchildren’s events, Marie was the one whose warm smile and calls kept things moving along. Beautiful inside and out, anyone Marie met became a friend. She also loved remaining young by listening to the current music style with her grandkids, secretly laughing every time she was mistaken for her daughters’ sister, and playing volleyball in the local leagues. While working full time and raising two daughters, Marie was able to finish her BS degree in Community Health from The Ohio State University and worked many years part time at Mt. Carmel Hospital. She is predeceased by her mother, Justina Acquista and her brother, Anthony Acquista. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Swartz; daughters, Amy (Eric) Wagenbrenner and Tracy (Michael) Thomas; grandchildren, Hudson, Reid, and Griffin Wagenbrenner, and Ryan and Kate Thomas; father, Anthony Acquista; brothers and sisters, Phyllis (Butch) Byers, Joann (John) Maurer, Donald (Michelle) Acquista, Tina (Glenn) Weimar, and Robert (Angee) Acquista; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Marie’s funeral mass will be on Monday January 9, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Father James Klima, Celebrant. The family will receive friends on Sunday January 8, 2012, from 1-3 and 6-8 with a prayer service at 3 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E Johnstown Rd. in Gahanna.
