Lit a candle in memory of Marie "Bidgie" Touris

Im not sure how the name started but Bidgie was always Bidgie Dear to us , us meaning the girls from Boardman.Bidgie could make you laugh like no other.Even though I havent seen her for awile I will miss her laugh and smile.We had some good times in Columbus.My thoughts and prayers are with you all.Love Amy Lunne aka Amy Davis

I had the pleasure of meeting Bidgie years ago at Kyla and Marks house, at one of their many fabulous gatherings.  I instantly loved Bidge because of her great sense of humor.  She always made me laugh.  Bidgie exuded strength, she always spoke her mind and was not afraid too.  A trait I admired about her...and maybe can relate to a little bit.  Bidgie was always welcoming and  warm, she was a very loyal friend.  I always felt very comfortable hanging out with my favorite big fat Greek family.  It was very evident that family was very important to her.  My kids always refered to Bidgie and LeeAnn as Aunt Bidgie and Aunt LeeAnn, obviously they were not their niece or nephews but everyone embraced it....I loved that.  It's evident how caring and loving they both are.  As   Buckeye football season is under way I will think of her often.  We always seemed to be at football parties together and also shared a love for the Bucks.  When ever i came back to town I always looked forward to seeing her.  And to my favorite big fat Greek family,  I am truly sorry for your loss.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.  I hope to see you all soon.

I met Marie through work many years back.  One talent I do not possess is the easy recollection of faces and names so when I can see someone once a year or so and remember them - that's amazing and that was Marie.  She had a wonderful sense of humor, a great work ethic and a level way of seeing things.  I valued her opinion.  Be at peace Marie and blessings to your family and friends as they mourn your loss.

I met Marie around 1997, we really hit it off, becoming good friends quickly. I had moved recently to Columbus, she was one of my first real friends and she introduced me to everyone she knew, she really helped me feel at home here in Columbus. We hung out for a few years, had a lot of great times! We lost contact for many years, but we ran into each other one year ago and had a good talk...I'm glad I had that chance to see her again. She was a unique person, a very fun and caring lady! To the family and Lee Ann, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Marie and I have worked together for over 15 years at Alliance Data and became close friends through the years. She was not only funny, witty, organized and intelligent, she also had an incredibly charitable heart. Every year she adopted a less fortunate child from the Giving Tree at Christmas time and bought many wonderful gifts for that child. She didn't hesitate to donate funds immediately after the hurricane in Haiti. She volunteered at the humane society because she loved animals. She was passionate about her beliefs and didn't change them if popular opinion at the time disagreed with them.She always stayed true to who she was. Most of all Marie was a wonderful friend who I will dearly miss. I take comfort in knowing she is at peace now and I will continue to pray for her and her family.

I worked with Marie many years ago (14+) at Alliance Data Systems. We became friends outside of work. She had a good heart and a great sense of humor. She was a good friend. Clearly, her family knew her best and has said it best in the obituary, facebook  and guestbook entry. I am so sorry for your loss.

I know this isn't necessarily for family, but I felt the need to share this.  Aunt Bidgie was a role model and a truly inspirational force in my life.  Her wisdom, grace, and tenacity in everything she does has defined who I am as a person.  I am so fortunate enough to have grown up in the company of an amazing aunt who is as loving and generous as they come.  What I will miss most is her infectious laugh..accompanied by that outrageous sense of humor we have all come to know and love.  While I am still grappling with the fact that she was taken from us so suddenly, I can seek solace and comfort in the 25 years of memories we shared.  Be it countless summer beach vacations, good times spent in German Village, family gatherings and holiday drinks, or dancing with the stars text messages :).  When the going gets too tough and the memories just aren't enough, I can look to the family she has left behind and feel a part of her in each of us.  We are all stronger, better people for knowing Aunt Bidgie and that is something that will live on forever.  I love you so much Aunt Bidgie, the void in my heart is only made better by the fact that I know you are finally at peace.  Love you always.
