

Marie “Bidgie” Touris, age 50 of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Marie was born in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of Peggy Touris and the late Dr. Thomas Touris. Marie graduated from Boardman High School, Class of 1978 and then went onto attend both The Ohio State University and Youngstown State University. Marie was the “rock” of her entire family. She valued relationships, and spending time with family and friends was something that she cherished. Marie had a great sense of humor, was very caring, and was also very honest and direct with people. She was an animal lover and volunteered at the Franklin County Animal Shelter. She also was currently employed with Alliance Data Systems. She enjoyed watching any sporting event, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, enjoyed traveling, particularly her trip to Greece, as well as gardening and the occasional family poker game. She will be missed by her loving partner, Lee Ann Vogelsberger; mother, Peggy Touris; siblings, Renee Sudimack, John (Joyce), Jaimee, and Mark (Kyla) Touris; 8 nieces and nephews; faithful companions, Max and Ellie; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at The Annunciation, Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 555 N. High St. Family will receive friends from 4-8 P.M. Friday at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where a Trisagion Prayer Service will begin at 7:30 P.M. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Father Michael Kontos officiating.
