

Marion M. Hunter, age 90, of Columbus, and formerly of Cincinnati, went home to be with her Lord Friday, June 25, 2010 at her home. Marion was born July 24, 1919 in Davenport, Iowa to the late William and Petra (Yglesias) McClung. At the age of 16, she graduated from high school and attended Storer College in Harpers Ferry, WV, where she received a Bachelor’s degree and Morgan State in Baltimore, MD. In 1943, Marion enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving as a Staff Sergeant. She met and married the love her life, Charles Hunter, more affectionately known to Marion as “Charlie Baby”. Together, they enjoyed traveling, fine dining, and socializing with friends. Charlie died in 2001. Marion worked for the Veteran
Administration for many years before her retirement. Since moving to Columbus, Marion has found great enjoyment volunteering at Gillie Senior Recreation Center and has attended Xenos Church. She has formed fond memories with her family and friends and enriched their lives immensely. Preceded in death by her parents; husband of over 40 years, Charles; sisters, Dominga McClung, Petra L. Ross, Edith W. Hamilton, Helena Avery, and Julia A. Swan. Marion will be missed by her sisters, Ramona Davis and Delores McClung; nieces and nephew, LaRue Ross, Ellen, Ronnie,
