Marion B. LeStourgeon

Marion Barbara LeStourgeon, age 85, died Sunday December 2nd. She was born April 19, 1933 to Lon Dewey Gamble and Marion Marie Patterson at home in San Antonio, Texas. Marion and Graham Meredith LeStourgeon married at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral in San Antonio on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1951. They were married for 53 years. Marion was with the Volunteers of America in Baton Rouge, LA, Indianapolis, IN and in Columbus, OH. She was a program director managing large thrift stores and the trucking operation. Both Graham and Marion retired in 1997 after 29 years of service with a party in the Ohio Statehouse rotunda. She served on the Columbus Volunteers of America Board for three years. For many years, Marion visited the terminally ill for HomeReach Hospice. She also visited individuals for Our Lady of Perpetual Help at Monterey Nursing Home. Marion enjoyed gardening, genealogy, scrapbooking, Wii bowling competition and Ohio State football. Marion is survived by her brother, Bob Gamble (Marge) in San Antonio, Texas.

Children from the marriage are Rebecca Anne Downey, Samuel Meredith LeStourgeon, (Karen), Seth Murray LeStourgeon and Mary Josephine LeStourgeon. There are grandchildren Jessica Berney, Katie Berney, Maximilian Berney, Alexander Berney, Andrew LeStourgeon, Sarah (LeStourgeon) Trueblood (David), Thomas LeStourgeon, James Trisler, (Crystal), Amanda Trisler and Maria (Trisler) Allen. There are six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from Thursday 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. Prayer Service 6:30 PM Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3710 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 at 10:00 AM on Friday with Rev. Fr. James Colopy celebrant. Internment is at St. Joseph Cemetery. As desired, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial offering be sent to Volunteers of America, 1776 E.
