Marion Marie West

The younger of two girls, Marion developed a love for animals by growing up on a farm. She was a graduate of New Concord High School and Office Training school in Columbus. Marion worked for a number of years for New York Central Railroad as a ticket agent in downtown Columbus and as the office manager for her husband’s firm, Donald D. West, CPA.

Marion had a kind heart and so many dear friends. She enjoyed being with her friends, lunching, and celebrating milestones with them. Marion attended Maize Manor United Methodist Church. She loved butterflies, animals, OSU men’s basketball, and the vacations her family took with June and Ralph Kunze. Marion was especially proud of her son, Mark, and always made sure to watch the latest television show on which he worked.

Marion’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to her hospice nurse, Jennifer Cravens, everyone at HomeReach Hospice, and the many dedicated caregivers who supported her.

In addition to her parents, Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. West and sister, Mary Martha Steele. Marion will be missed by her loving son, Mark D. West; nephew, Fred A. Steele; great-nephew, Nathanael A. Steele; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family will receive friends Friday, February 3, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Rev. Gloria Brooks, officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Cemetery, County Rd. 15, Cambridge, OH.
