Marjorie Irene Lewis

Marjorie Ross Day Lewis, age 89, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, at Ohio Health Hospice (formally know as Kobacker) following a massive stroke on August 4. She had been a diabetic for seventy years.

Marge spent multiple decades in public service to the Central Ohio area. She served on both the United Way and YWCA boards and worked many years with Caring and Sharing. She was a founding member of Project Aware, providing furniture, clothing, and other support to families of need in the Westerville Community. Oftentimes out of her home or her own pocket and always out of the goodness of her heart.

Marge was a 4-H and Campfire Girl leader, a book club member, and an active member in the Harlem Township Garden Club.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents Leland and Betty Johnson Ross; husbands Terence Day and John Lewis; daughters Pamela McSherley, Kimberly Day, Deborah Day and Rebeccah Day; brother Robert Rhodeback; and dear friend, Michael Hayes.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (James) Ortlieb, siblings Charles (Carol) Ross, Dianna (Robert) Jaynes, Marcelia (Mark) Pheister, sister-in-law Julie Rhodeback and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family extends their thanks to Westerville Senior Living staff and friends, where Marge continued to live independently following her return to Ohio from Cape Coral, Florida in 2021.

A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, September 12, at 10:00 at the New Albany United Methodist Church, 470 Market Street, New Albany, OH 43054. All are welcome to attend. Private burial shall take place at a later date.
