Marjorie Ann (Archer) Powers

Marjorie Ann (Archer) Powers, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Mount Carmel East. She was born on November 8, 1929, to the late Alfred Dennis and Gladys Miller and was a graduate of North High School. After attending classes at Ohio State, Marjorie worked for many years as a salesperson at Lazarus and Anderson’s. She also served as a lunch aide at Leawood Elementary School, and was a member of the Pythian Sisters. Marjorie was a positive person with a great sense of humor. She loved children and animals, and she enjoyed singing, dancing, fishing and playing cards. She was a wonderful cook and loved to treat others with her pies, cakes and cookies. She is survived by her children, Deb, Rob (Marie), David, and Melissa Archer; grandchildren, Steve, Katie, Brad, and Greg Archer; sister, Violet Jean Kauffman; as well as many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by 7 siblings. Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where a memorial service to celebrate Marjorie’s life will begin at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank or Mount Carmel Hospice.
