

Mark Claytor, age 78, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on August 13, 2026. He was born on July 15, 1948, to the late Jerry and Leota Claytor. Mark was preceded in death by parents, siblings Larry Claytor, Harold Claytor and Marjorie Alley. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Military Police officer. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who treasured the time he spent with his family. Mark is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Connie (Ollam) Claytor, his daughter Lisa Hardin (Rick); beloved grandsons Timothy Reed, Matthew Reed and Brock Hardin. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Kate Claytor, Amy Taggert and Leanna Patrick; brothers-in-law John Ollam Sr. and David Ollam and many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory. Mark especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports and was always proud to be there cheering them on. He shared his love of sports with others as well, coaching girls’ basketball and his daughter’s softball teams at St. Mary Magdalene. He also helped coach Little League baseball for his grandsons. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm for his teams with his family and friends. Mark will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to the young people he coached, his pride in his grandsons and the friendships he made throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A special shoutout goes to Mark’s beach buddies, Leanna and Holly, for their friendship, laughter, and memories they shared.
