

Mark Alan Montgomery went home to our Lord at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2016 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He had been battling brain cancer since July 2014. Mark was born on October 31, 1970 to Josaphat L. and Rose Ann (Woods) Montgomery in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. Mark is survived by his parents and two brothers, Joseph Patrick (Carrie) Montgomery, Columbus, Ohio, and Michael David (Susan) Montgomery, New Albany, Ohio; a very special niece, Abigail Griffith; and his beloved Chihuahua, Taco. Mark's partner in life, Michelle Hamlin and daughters, Kelsey and Alexis, of Bentonville, Arkansas all held a very special place in his heart. He is survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Mark attended Bishop Flaget High School but graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1989. He and his best friend, Shawn Gray, joined the U.S. Army, as Combat Engineers, in September 1989. He studied Computer Science at Columbus State Community College and Computer Science and Business at Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio while working at WalMart in Grove City, Ohio. Mark enjoyed working at WalMart for almost 20 years, where he was a Senior Manager in Health and Wellness. During his time with Walmart, Mark developed life-long friendships that he treasured. A visitation will be held 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 21 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 5101 Johnstown Road, New Albany, Ohio. Fr. Jason Prati officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, Ohio.
