

Mark G. Turney, age 55, of Columbus, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012. He was born on December 26, 1956. Mark was a loving, supportive, and warm-hearted son, husband, father, uncle, and friend. He was a graduate of Whetstone High School Class of 1974 and a longtime member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Mark worked as a construction inspector for the city of Columbus and retired after 30 years of dedicated service, then recently he worked in sales for Gaddis and Son Concrete Company. An avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan, Mark also supported the Buckeyes. Golfing and spending time with his wife and sons were his favorite pastime. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, George and Sally Turney; and sister, Teri Greer. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Lynn; children, Nathan and Eric; sister, Laura Jenson; blended family members, Barbara Turney, Jeff (Rachel) Beck, and Melissa (Matthew) Bond; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
