

Marta J. Canegalli, 82, of Columbus, went to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep early Monday morning, November 23, 2009. Marta was born March 13, 1927 in Nyíregyháza,Hungary, and following WWII, lived in Germany with her beloved mother Marta Volozci. In 1951 she moved with her mother and husband Dr. Karl Jeney to Ohio, eventually residing in Columbus. Over the years Marta worked at old Mercy Hospital, Schottensteins Stores and several retail chains including Lane Bryant, becoming a top saleswoman there. She was employed as a nurse’s aide at The Village at Westerville Nursing Center where she retired in 1990. She was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Church on Woodrow Avenue. Preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Marta Voloczi; brother, Frederick Voloczi, Jr.; former husbands, Imre Naphegyi, Paul “Bud” Norris, and Albert E. Canegalli. Marta will be missed by her children, Martie Jeney, Aggie Jeney, Karl Jeney Jr., Annie Callahan, and Lisa (Mark) Jarrell, along with 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and former husband, Dr. Karl Jeney.
