Martha Hoyer

Martha Hoyer, age 94, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 6, 2014. She was born to the late Ralph and Jennie Ickes on February 8, 1920 in Claysburg, Pennsylvania. Martha was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She was retired from Winding Hollow Country Club and enjoyed crocheting, bowling, fishing, and traveling. She was a devoted member of St. James the Less Catholic Church and a member of the St. James Altar Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Hoyer; son, Jim Hoyer; and siblings, Charles, Harry, and Violet. She is survived by children, Regis (Barb) Hoyer, Mary Biddle, and Paul Hoyer; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings, Melvin (Barb) Ickes, Bill Ickes, Betty Progar, Virginia (Ed) Daley, and Vera Ickes; sister in law, Genevieve Hoyer; many nieces and nephews; and close friends and neighbors.
