

Martha J. Jennings, age 92, of Columbus and formerly of Marion, Ohio, died Monday, December 13, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born February 22, 1918 in Marion, a daughter of Clyde and Letha (Cooper) Huntsman. Besides her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, J. Thomas Jennings in 1991 and sister, Mildred Landon in 1999. Martha is survived by her sister, Barbara Chevalier, Columbus; aunt, Florence Carroll, Vermilion, OH; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. She was a seamstresss, who enjoyed making clothes for her family. A “Mrs. Fix-It”, Martha loved to work with her hands fixing things and seeing how they worked. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Marion, where she sang in the choir for 50 years. She volunteered at Doctors Hospital West, Columbus. Martha, an avid golfer, had two holes-in-one and was a member of the women’s golf league at Raymond Memorial. Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2010 at Central Christian Church, 421 Mt. Vernon Avenue, Marion, Ohio with Rev. Charles “Bud” Hill officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cat Welfare Association, 741 Wetmore Road, Columbus, OH 43214, in her memory.
