Marvin Wayne Gordon

Marvin Wayne Gordon, age 95, of Columbus, passed away Friday, January 2, 2015. Marvin was born October 13, 1919 in New Reading, Ohio to the late Roy and Alice Gordon. He was a graduate of Pleasantville H.S. and was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country during WWII. Marvin retired from the J.C. Penney Co. with 43 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and spent many hours volunteering at the Yorkshire Swim Club. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Gordon and brothers, Clifton and Kenneth Gordon. Marvin is survived by his sons, Ron (Jackie) and Don Gordon; granddaughter, Kristin (Michael) Gordon-Craig; great-grandson, Parker Craig; sister, Goldie Weldon; fellow co-workers and friends at store #580; good friend and neighbor, Rose Marie Trbovich; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral Service will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. Burial immediately following at Hampson Cemetery, Pleasantville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio, 500 W.
