

Mary Adams Brooks, loving mother, devoted wife and caring sister passed away December 23rd at Kobacker House. She was surrounded by adoring family members and loving friends.
Mary was highly regarded as a prominent socialite in Columbus. She served as the president of the Rinkydinks Social Club and was an appointed member of the Columbus Fashion Advisory Board. Renowned for her fashion sense and flair for style, Mary regarded the world as her runway. She was recognized by Ebony Magazine in 1964 as one of the Best Dressed Women in the United States of America. She was a natural in front of the camera and always lit up any room she entered. Mary's true passion was mentoring children and counseling troubled teenagers. She served honorably and with distinction as a Police Officer in the Juvenile Bureau of the Columbus Police Department for 28 years. She received a Bachelors Degree from Ohio Dominican University and a Masters Degree from the University of Dayton. She is preceded in death by her loving son, William "Bill-Bill" H. Brooks, Jr. and her devoted husband, The Honorable Judge William H. Brooks. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian A. and Dominique Brooks; two loving granddaughters, Ceylone and Brii; two younger sisters, Patsy Dooley and Opal Scott; and an adoring family who admired her greatly. Mary Brooks was a generous and loving mother to all of her family. We will miss her and cherish her in our hearts forever. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 PM on Monday December 29, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E State St. Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 E Broad St. Columbus, OH 43215.
