Mary Ethel (Young) Dent, age 94, let go of our loving hands and took the hand of God on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Scioto Community. She was born to the late Alonzo and Laura Young on January 9, 1916 in Louisa, Kentucky. She retired from General Motors, Ternstedt Division in 1977, was a member of UAW, and President of the Pi Kappa Phi Mother’s Club at Otterbein College. Mary enjoyed making homemade chocolate bars, canning, gardening, and fixing her family’s favorite meals. She was always caring for someone else. She was deeply loved and preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Dent after 54 years of marriage; granddaughter, Kelly Sue Wells; grandsons, infant Douglas Martindale and Jason Dent; infant sister, Hester Young and brothers, Crate, Kenneth and Herbert Young. Mary exemplified true devotion to her family. As a mother she was the best. She is cherished, loved and survived by her children, Sandra (Tom) Wells; Sharon (Paul) Pennell, Robert H. Dent, and Daniel (Susan) Dent; grandchildren, Robert D. Wells, Robert M. (Leslie) Dent, Jon (Debbie) Dent, Micah (Karen) Dent, Travis Dent, Jessica (Kris) Kersbergen, and Ashley Wells; great-grandchildren, Victoria (Chris) Hargis, Cade, Cael, Cullen and Conlan Dent, Billy, Jamie, Tyler and Stephanie Dent, Shane and Kyle Dent; great, great-grandchildren, Kendall and Chase Bailey, Kerigan Wells; sisters, Lorna Wylie, Ruth Parrett and sister-in-law, Marie Young. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thanks to long-time caregivers Hermin Watson and Allen Carrel and to the attentive and caring staff at Scioto Community. Visitation will be held 3:00-7:00PM Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL 3920 Broadway Grove City where the funeral service will be held 11:00AM Monday, April 26, 2010 with visitation from 10:00AM until time of service.
